FAQs

Just like humans, every equine is different. There are many factors that come into play to figure out how often your horse should be treated. The average massage appointment can be anywhere between 2-6 weeks on average. Often horses that are just starting massage therapy can benefit from being seen more frequently, until they are in a better muscular state. Whereas horses whose muscle are already in good shape can usually be seen less frequently. Your equine massage therapist can give a more exact timeline after your horse’s hands on massage session.

Equine massage therapy can benefit horses, ponies, donkeys, miniature horses, and mules. We are happy to work with any of your equines!

To help maximize your equines massage session we recommend having your horse caught and groomed. Having your horse already haltered and close by means we can start treatment as soon as we arrive. Also, insuring your horse has no hard mud on them allows the massage therapist to have a more accurate feel of the horse and provides a more enjoyable massage for your equine. Dust is inevitable, so don’t worry about having your horse spotless, we understand life with horses. Please do not apply any form of shine spray to your horse before a session (fly spray is allowed). If possible, we also recommend that your horse is dry.
-
With some equines you are able to see immediate results, other times it may take multiple sessions before noticing large improvements. Some horses need some extra time to show their releases. A lot of these equines have struggled with certain issues for a long time, that often means its going to take some time before you see improvements.
-
We actually recommend taking your horse for a light, easy ride right after a massage session. Doing so not only allows the horse to start moving their body in a way they may not have been able to do before, but also gives you the opportunity to see any positive changes in your horse. However, we do not recommend riding before a massage session: this ensure the horse is cooled down and dry.
-
The initial assessment we recommend you are with your horse. Although, for future appointments you do not have to be right beside your horse, as long as they are comfortable tied or in crossties.

We strive to keep you and your horse as health and safe as possibly. If we are visiting multiple different barns in a day, we disinfect our shoes and put on a fresh pair of clothes between visits. Taking precautionary steps like this helps minimize the chances of spreading equine related diseases and/or sicknesses. We care about the horse we treat as if they were our own!
Anywhere in the orange circle we will treat with not additional travel fee or minimum horse booking. The blue circle will require you to book at least 3 horses or pay a small travel fee (clients choice). We are more than happy to serve you if you are outside both of these areas, although there will be a travel fee charged. Feel free to contact us to learn more about travel fees and/or group bookings. We are more than happy to make something work out for you and your equine(s).
